Swim England membership renewals tweaked to make process easier for clubs

Swim England is making changes to its membership renewals in a bid to make the process easier for clubs.

Annual renewals are due on 1 January with clubs having until 28 February to submit a batch of members’ details and make payment.

However, the current system has caused challenges for a number of clubs – so Swim England has tweaked the steps taken.

From 2025, clubs will have until the end of January to send Swim England their batch submissions.

An invoice will then be generated so clubs know exactly how much is owed – and they will then have until the end of February to make the payment.

Smoother process

Leanne Brace, Swim England’s head of membership development, saId the changes were being introduced to provide clarity on what is required throughout the renewals process.

She said: “The renewals process has, in the past, been a stressful time for volunteers at our affiliated clubs.

“We’re keen to make that process smoother and ensure renewals are done in a timely fashion so everyone is ready for competitions.

“By introducing this two-tier approach and sending clubs a formal invoice, they will know exactly how much they need to pay rather than estimating the final cost once the batch of renewals has been submitted.

“It should also mean there is more time for clubs to query anything they weren’t expecting and reduce the confusion of completing the submission batch and payment at the same time.”
