Performance Swimming Coach

Rushmoor Royals Swimming Club, primarily based in northeast Hampshire, is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced coach to work as the lead coach on our Regional Performance Squad.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning and delivery of the squad's training session as well as liaise with the Head Coach regarding the development of all age group swimmers within the club's structure and work closely with all members of the coaching team. The Regional Performance squad consists of swimmers primarily aged 12 – 15 years old working towards gaining South East Regional qualification times and qualifying for Hampshire County finals.

Session venues include Aldershot (primary location), Camberley and Eversley.

This is a self-employed role with a very competitive hourly rate dependant on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare and deliver the annual plan for the Regional Performance Squad, in line with the club-wide development plan.
• Attend appropriate competitions which may include: Rushmoor Royal Galas, other local competitions, County/Regional Championships and Arena League competitions.
• Provide a professional approach towards coaching and support swimmers to help them to achieve their goals and reach their potential.
• Regularly engage with swimmers during sessions to provide feedback on stroke technique and other areas that will improve their overall performance.
• Regularly meet with the swimmers (once per term) to update their goals and provide any updates
• Be a positive role model to members and inspire them to achieve the best they can.
• Undertake suitable continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities to update skills and knowledge on a regular basis.

Requirements:

• Minimum of Swim England Swimming Coach Certificate/ASA Level 2 Coaching Award
• Appropriate safeguarding qualifications.
• Valid/clean DBS check and right to work in the UK.
• Excellent time management, organisation, and communication skills.
• Work well withing a coaching team.
• Flexibility to work weekday evenings (after 6pm) and weekends.
• Experience in working with and developing age group swimmers.
