University of Liverpool Water Polo Scholarship
November 12, 2013The University of Liverpool have competitive men’s and women’s water polo teams who play in BUCS and UPolo competitions. In 2016, the women’s team finished runners up in UPolo.
The university offers scholarships top elite athletes who have competed at international level while the university’s Sports and Fitness Centre contains a fitness suite as well as a 33m pool.

University of Liverpool Water Polo Scholarships
Elite athletes who have competed at junior or senior international standard are eligible to apply for a University of Liverpool Water Polo Scholarship through the university’s Elite Athlete Support Scheme.
Students receiving a scholarship will receive a full support package including physiotherapy, psychology, strength and conditioning and membership of the Sports and Fitness Centre.
Students on the Elite Athlete Support Scheme will also receive a cash bursary, dependent on their ability and potential, and will be expected to compete for the university in BUCS competitions.
The University of Liverpool also provide a Sports Bursary Scheme for athletes who have achieved county or regional selection.
Sports Facilities at the University of Liverpool
The University of Liverpool’s Sports and Fitness Centre features a 33m swimming pool as well as two sports halls, four squash courts, a spinning studio, a class studio, a state-of-the-art fitness suite with the latest Cybex equipment and free weights, and a Bouldering wall.
As well as the Cybex equipment, allowing users connect their iPods, track workouts with Nike+iPod, the gym has a wide range of resistance machines, free weights and functional training areas.
The University of Liverpool water polo teams train and compete at the pool in the Sports & Fitness Centre.
