Learn to Swim Tour 2025

Swim England’s Learn to Swim team are going on tour in 2025.

They will be visiting six locations across the country in February, March and April to deliver a unique opportunity for expert teaching, sharing best practices and building invaluable network connections within the swimming community.

The Learn to Swim Tour will provide a new learning experience on the very best of learn to swim delivery from industry experts.

Whether you are a seasoned swimming tutor, teacher, aquatic leader or new to the sector, the Learn to Swim Tour will enhance your skills and support you in the next level of your delivery style.

The cost is £40 per person with the option for teams to make a group booking.

Places can now be booked at the following dates and venues with all sessions running between 9am and 5pm:

Plymouth

  • Thursday 6 February, 2025 – Plymouth Life Centre, 40 Mayflower Drive, Plymouth, PL2 3DG

Nottingham

  • Thursday 13 February, 2025 – University of Nottingham, Beeston Lane, Lenton Abbey, Nottingham, NG7 2RD

Sandwell

London (Olympic Park)

Spennymoor

The sessions will include the following activities:

Teaching strokes across the Learn to Swim Framework

This workshop will showcase the culmination of 18-months of work with the Swim England Tutor workforce, focusing on how to empower Swim Teachers to select practices which are appropriate to the participant’s individual needs that are relevant to the expected standards, suitable, safe, fun, progressive, inclusive and engaging to create an effective lesson.

An introduction from the Business Engagement team on support and resources that Swim England offers including our Business solution products and services, workforce solutions and not to mention the free resources and support we have available to help retain and grow your Learn to Swim Programmes.

Learn to Swim emphasis points

This workshop will introduce key messages and emphasis points for an effective, fun and engaging swimming lesson. Emphasis points will include, active learning, corrective vs progressive, core aquatics skills and fun approach.

Applied Skills in the pool

Throughout this workshop you will explore current and new practices to deliver best practice swimming teaching, and apply the teachings from the day. Attendees can observe from the side or take part within the water!
